Pilates is a form of Body and Mind conditioning that develops the body uniformly, addresses posture, strength, flexibilty, mobility and endurance. The studio offers Classical Pilates mat and equipment based repertoire. Individual and group Classes are offered at various levels and are kept small. All sessions incorporate aspects of movement where the emphasis is placed on the learning of body awareness. All classes offered are unique and routines constantly varied.
Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) is part of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education where movement sequences are directed verbally without physical demonstration and are done in groups. Awareness Through Movement® lessons teaches one how become aware of your thinking, feeling and sensations through movement and how to move with more ease and less strain.
Functional Integration® (FI) sessions are the personalized “Hands-on aspect of the Feldenkrais Method®. These individual sessions addresses each person’s personal needs and concerns related to a movement related situation that you might have difficulty with and are interested in improving. Through Gentle touch and movement with directed attention, one can learn new possibilities to increase range of motion, improve flexibility and coordination.
Rehabilitation classes focus on injury or pain related issues and are normally referred from Physiotherapist or Chiropractors. We work in conjunction with the above mentioned specialists in order to assist in a fast recovery. These sessions are more therapeutic and the pace is much slower.
